What is Santhi Geriatric and Hospice Care?
Ans: It’s a health care service attached to clinics and labs. It is mainly for care of elderly patients. It includes home care service too.

Is it a kind of medical insurance? Ans: No, it's not a medical insurance.

How is it different from a medical insurance? Ans: Unlike insurance it provide patient care according to care plan decided for each patient.

Who is a Caregiver – Is the service entity who give services to geriatric client. SGHC (Santhi Geriatric and Hospice Care) is the primary care giver.

Who is Care Sponsor – Is the person who sponsor the geriatric client package expenses. It can be geriatric client himself , his relatives or others.

Care Plans

What are the services offered in the Santhi Geriatric and Hospice Care? Ans: Our Services includes outpatient, inpatient and home care visits. Basic and premium packages can be modified according to geriatric client requirements as well as care sponsor requests. As per our geriatric careplan there will be periodic health evaluations.

What are the services offered under it? Ans: Care sponsor has to decide a care plan offered by us. Services include outpatient, inpatient and home care visits. As per our geriatric care plan there will be periodic health evaluations.

What are the services not covered in it? Ans: It provide services included in geriatric care plan only.

Add on Care

What if a person needs a service outside the ones covered under it? Ans: There will be add on options for extra visits and patient care. The Care sponsor has to select the option to avail the services.

What are the minimum guaranteed services coming under Santhi Geriatric and Hospice Care ? Ans: The minimum service is as per the geriatric care plan selected by caregiver once he/she enroll the geriatric patient.

Care Duration

Will it offer the services of a home nurse to be available 24x7, if needed at home or in hospital, if hospitalised? Ans: At present the service will be only in affiliated hospitals. The affiliated hospital staff will be available 24x7.

Are there any specified hours in which the services are available? Ans: The service is available morning 6 am till 6pm. Once hospitalized our affiliated hospital staff will be available for services

What if one needs services outside the specified hours? Ans: The option when available in geriatric care plan, caregiver can avail it.

What is Demand Carry forward? It is the services offered by SGHC which are not perishable. It means these services are carry forwarded to next year and accumulated. Demand carry forward expires after 2 years if not utilized. To avail this service the care plan need to be renewed and in active status

Payments

Is your price inclusive of the GST or is it to be paid in addition to the amount quoted by Santhi Geriatric and Hospice Care? Ans: Our services are not included under GST bracket.

Is there any prorate refund of the services charges paid in advance in case there is a premature withdrawal from the scheme under any circumstances? (Also, in case the beneficiary expires?) Ans: It will be mentioned in care plan once you select the option.

How to seek redressal in case one feels any deficiency in the services? Ans: We will address all deficiencies as per the care plan selection. Our services will be world class.

DRG

Diagnostic Related Grouping (DRG) is a system used in healthcare to classify outpatient and inpatient hospital cases into groups based on similar clinical characteristics and resource utilization.

The DRG payment covers investigation charges associated with an outpatient and inpatient stay from the time of admission to discharge

The payment will be decided based on severity of illness

Package Renewal

Package renewal is a must for “Demand carry forward”. The contract expires completely if annual care plan is not renewed.

All packages are not refundable. Renewal grace period is 1 month.

Transportation

How is the transportation arranged to the hospital / home / clinical laboratory by Santhi Geriatric and Hospice Care? Ans: Our staff will accompany the geriatric patient and we will provide the transportation. Maximum nursing care (in hours) and transportation in (kms) will be available once you select the care plan.

In case an ambulance is to be arranged to take a person to hospital / home / clinical laboratory, will the person need to pay anything extra? Ans: Please note that it’s not an emergency/ambulance service. Our staff service will not be available for such services. You can get the local ambulance service contact details from our website. You can avail our affiliated hospital staff services once admitted if you have selected that option in care plan. Santhi geriatric and hospice care plan will not provide emergency services.

AFFILIATED HOSPITAL & LAB

At present we have Santhinikethan Hospital, Ponkunnam as the affiliated hospital with Santhi Geriatric and Hospice Care. We have following affiliated Labs as well: 1) Scanron Diagnostics, Kanjirapally. 2) Santhinikethan Hospital, Ponkunnam. Our services are available in Kottayam districts currently.
